Hammer Press Printing Studio

hammer1hammer3hammer2Hammer Press Printing Celebrates 20 Years of being in buisness. I really enjoy these designs mainly for the abstract art and bright colors. The feel is very random and beautiful.

Danger Dust

Thunder Strike.com

The Eye Center Logo
The Purpose of this assigment was to make a fresh new brand image

"Dr. Samir Sayegh wanted to rebuild The Eye Center brand image to position his practice for continual growth. The logo depicts the lower case “e” as a pupil and iris. The brand image was applied to signage, websites, business cards, advertising and other branding venues."

Career Skillet
Thunderstrike was asked to design a name and logo for a website oriented to teens and young adults for careers and and employment education.

"The creative team researched and brainstormed over 50 names and variations before settling on “Career Skillet”. The idea came from the nature of the website being a complete resource on how to develop career skills, resume writing and  job searching techniques… a recipe book of tips.  Hence the cooking theme."

How people manipulated photography before photoshop

I decided this weeks blog should be about photoshop since our homework was manipulating a photo in photoshop. I stumbled upon this article about how people used to manipulate photography before photoshop was created! it is such an interesting thing to see how people used to do their creativity before all the nice programs helped us find an easier route.

here are just a few i had seen in the article.

Faking It: Manipulated Photography Before PhotoshopFaking It: Manipulated Photography Before PhotoshopFaking It: Manipulated Photography Before Photoshop MOMA; back in 2012 showed an exhibit showing photos that were manipulated before photoshop was ever invented. The host of this exhibit was none other than Adobe. The exhibition was the first to ever be devoted to doctored photography. Anywhere from hand painted, salt prints of the 1840s to pre-digital dreamscapes of the twentieth century.

The New International Poster Master: Felix Pfäffli

felix1
I chose this article because Felix Pfäffli uses minimum amount of tools at his disposal, he uses mainly type and color for his designs.
felix3my favorite of his designs is the "Mono Tales" poster, i love the way he made the poster look folded. The color was a great choice as well. The movement Felix uses in his work, keeps your eyes moving but youre never distracted by one specific thing.

Awesome Posters for movies & shows

I chose to talk about this because I really enjoy looking at movie posters, seeing the different ways you can tell a story before even going to watch it.

killing_them_softly_xlgI really enjoy this poster becuase of the 3 color design they did. I love the sillouette and there isnt very much in the poster it self. Just a gun, a pair of aviators and an american flag.
